Requirements
As a Warehouse Operator, you will coordinate and manage the flow of shipments and deliveries for the Department of Licensing. Your responsibilities include serving as the point of contact for all incoming deliveries, inspect products to ensure they meet acceptance criteria, repackage and determine the most cost-effective shipping/distribution methods, process and package daily sales orders, and deliver supplies to Thurston County DOL buildings utilizing a non-CDL, 2.5 ton delivery truck. You will ensure records are accurate for inventory control purposes and will conduct physical inventory of all on hand items annually. You are also responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and following all safety operations. This role requires clear communication, organization, and collaboration to ensure the timely and efficient handling of all warehouse operations.
Some of what you will be doing:- Receive, unload, move, and load products safely and efficiently, including supplies, PPE, and IT or non-IT equipment.
- Perform quality checks on all incoming products, verifying quantities, conditions, and accuracy against shipping documents.
- Enter products into inventory systems, repackage items for shipment, and plan deliveries, including priorities and destination points using a non-CDL delivery truck.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; perform basic maintenance and report service needs.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
- Organize the warehouse for maximum space use, maintain cleanliness, and follow all safety guidelines.
- Process disposal of surplus or excess items according to agency policy.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role (Required):- A valid driver's License
- Able to do the required physical work, including lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and performing repetitive tasks with repetitive motions, while standing and walking for long durations.
- One (1) year of experience in warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, and/or receiving, and operating material handling equipment.
- Six (6) months of experience understanding, explaining, and correctly applying safety rules, laws, and regulations.
- Six (6) months or more of using software to write emails, create documents, and fill out spreadsheets.
- Six (6) months of experience driving vehicles up to and including 2.5-ton trucks.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
What may help set you apart (Preferred):- Additional experience working in a warehouse environment with responsibilities including shipping/receiving products, understanding invoices and shipping documents, sorting, and stocking products and general warehouse organization and cleaning duties.
- Additional experience operating and performing basic maintenance on material handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks and pallet jacks.
- Experience using an inventory management program.
