This communications consultant works with Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery program partners to develop functional and informative booklets, forms, web applications, and other materials with a focus on accessibility and usability.

About the division:
The Communications Division provides strategic leadership and operational support for external and internal communications on agency business and strategic initiatives for the Health Care Authority (HCA).
About the position:
Under the direction of the Visual Communications Manager, this position plans, coordinates and implements marketing and user experience design (branding, design, accessibility, and functionality) communications for the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) and for other programs as needed.
This position analyzes communications needs and creates solutions that, paired with written content, translate complex issues into clear, understandable information for a variety of audiences.
This position employs user experience designer skills in writing, visual communication, coding, and research to create functional and accessible products that support our mission, our values, and our brand.
This position is eligible to telework but may be required to report on-site to meet business needs, including twice per year for team meetings.
The default assigned work location of all HCA positions – both on-site and telework eligible positions – is within the State of Washington. This position reports to Olympia, WA.
Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. HCA has currently suspended the ability to support out-of-state telework.
