Summary

This job involves leading a team of workers to operate, maintain, and repair water and wastewater treatment systems in national parks, ensuring clean water supply and proper waste processing for public use.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to lead and supervise a crew of semi-skilled and skilled workers without more than normal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of operating, monitoring, and maintaining water treatment facilities, storage, and distribution systems (500-50,000 gallons per day)
  • Expertise in wastewater treatment operations, including Activated Sludge / Extended Aeration plants with advanced processes
  • Skill in interpreting instructions, specifications, and blueprints
  • Proficiency in using, maintaining, and assembling tools, equipment, and measuring instruments
  • Understanding of technical practices, materials, and repair techniques for utility systems
  • Experience ensuring regulatory compliance, quality control, and reporting on system conditions and potential contamination

As a Utility Systems Repairer Operator Leader, you will Lead a crew of semi-skilled and skilled workers in water and wastewater treatment plant operations.

Operate the water systems and is responsible for proper operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water treatment facilities, storage and distribution systems which provide between 500 and 50,000 gallons per day for public and domestic use.

Operate Wastewater Treatment systems and is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, repairs, and monitoring of an Activated Sludge / Extended Aeration Treatment plant with state-of-the-art treatment processes.

Keep supervisor informed concerning all aspects of quality and regulatory compliance of water or wastewater systems, condition of plants and equipment, infiltration or intentional contamination of the domestic water supply.
