Job Description

Summary

This job involves operating and maintaining water treatment plants, sewage pumping stations, and related equipment at a naval facility in Mississippi, including monitoring systems, performing repairs, and testing water quality.

It's a hands-on role for someone with practical experience in utility operations who enjoys working with pumps, valves, and boilers.

Key Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating, inspecting, monitoring, testing, and cleaning water treatment plants and equipment

  • Experience collecting and testing water samples using standard chemical tests

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Assisting with daily operation and operational maintenance of sewage lift and pumping stations; 2) Reading system maps, located valves, operated valves and pumps.

and 3) Controlling the flow of water from various pumping stations, increasing or decreasing according to stations demands.

Requires State of Mississippi Class B Water Works Operators Certification, however, management will consider candidates with a Class C Water Works Operators certification, if Class B certification can be obtained within one year of hire.

  • You will operate, inspect, monitor, test, and clean station’ water treatment plants, systems, and equipment.
  • You will perform various operational repairs and preventative maintenance on boilers and associated auxiliary equipment
  • You will collect and test water samples and test feed water, boiler water, and condensate using standard chemical tests.
