The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander/director for all administrative support programs.
Also serves as liaison with personnel flights on personnel issues and assists in oversight oforganization manpower resource requirements.
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes experience assisting supervisors, managers, and staff in order to plan and organize management programs and functions of the organization.
Experience with administrative support programs such as cyber-security Liaison (CL), Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel Systems (DTS) administrator, drug demand program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (APDE) accounts, security program, supply program, civilian time card program, and unit recognition program; AND experience assisting/supporting on military and civilian personnel issues and manpower resource requirements.
Experience using various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations.
Independently note and follow up on commitments; collect, organize, and compile data in order to recommend actions to supervisors and managers.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of an extensive body of policies and procedures governing the overall unit administrative and orderly room operations.
Knowledge of various steps and procedures needed to perform duties, to ensure all actions are accomplished and if problems exist, to identify other alternatives as needed.
Knowledge of standard processes and procedures for evaluating program efficiency to implement processes to improve programs.
Knowledge of organizational structure in order to assess manpower authorizations and utilization. Knowledge of the basic objectives and policies governing various management or program operations.
Knowledge of an extensive body of HR rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to support the organization with a wide variety of interrelated HR support work.
Knowledge of an extensive body of HR rules, procedures, and operations concerning records and documents sufficient to ensure the documentation is correct and sufficient.
Skill to properly assess and apply various facts and types of information.
Knowledge of duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the organization sufficient to perform non-routine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings/conferences; advising others on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpreting new instructions and procedures; or locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is or is not relevant to the problem at hand.
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondences and reports.
Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues.
Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.
