Summary
This job is for aspiring state troopers who will train at the Iowa Department of Public Safety Academy to become certified law enforcement officers patrolling and protecting communities across Iowa.

Key Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Successful completion of the DPS Academy training and certification from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy
- Pass physical fitness testing (1.5-mile run, sit-ups, push-ups, sit and reach)
- Pass written test covering grammar, spelling, mathematics, and writing
- Complete oral board interview, polygraph, psychological evaluation, medical evaluation, and extensive background investigation
- Ability to work all shifts, extended hours, holidays, and weekends
- U.S. work authorization verified through E-Verify
