Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
The incumbent will be responsible for Serve as a Branch Chief and perform as a senior transportation specialist applying military mobility experience to plan, organize and implement operating policies, revise directives, influence doctrine, and performs as the Command's Special Technical Operations (STO) expert.
You may qualify at the GS-GS-14 if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Providing overall direction and vision to subordinates on a wide range of transportation, traffic management, logistics and supply-chain management, distribution, and administrative issues.
Experience in management of government / military organizations and personnel, skilled in personnel leadership, management principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively supervise personnel and transportation require Planning and organizing complex work, collaborating, planning and meeting critical deadlines transportation requirements across the globe supporting Federal Agencies, OSW, DOD, Joint Staff and Combatant Command SAP, ACCM and/or SCI, requirements across the SAP security enterprise.
Experience in management of government / military organizations and personnel, skilled in personnel leadership, management principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively supervise personnel and transportation requirements Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST at the GS-2101-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: - Serves as the HQ USTRANSCOM lead and subject matter expert on all Special Technical Operations programs directly supporting worldwide logistics planning, organizing and managing activities of the Special Technical Operations Branch.
Performs as the final authority expert to the Operations Director and USTRANSCOM Commander by providing technical, objective, STO expertise, security risk-based situation analyses, and recommendations to assure appropriate legal and protection requirements for SAPs in support of Rapid Global Mobility missions.
Analyzes transportation and logistics details, examines Multimodal delivery methods based on risk assessment, delivery dates, Operational Security posturing and assesses and provides consequence management plan support and resolutions to complex and sensitive transportation problems.
Manages the Command's governance and oversight authorities and roles in support of SAPs serving as the TRANSCOM Cognizant Authority and Command's SAP Functional Manager.
- Collaborates Operational Planning requirements and validates OSW, Joint Staff and CCMD transportation requirements for all-domain lift allocation, loading, and offloading locations for logistics feasibility, transportability, security, submittal, and validation of movement.
