Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping Navy personnel and others with travel arrangements, passports, and transportation services, mainly using computer systems to book trips and fix issues.

It suits someone with office experience who likes solving problems for travelers, especially in a military setting.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 for the GS-6 level, including developing travel solutions, monitoring contracts, investigating financial errors, arranging transportation via automated systems, and reviewing travel documents
  • For GS-5 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-4, such as assisting with travel/passport issues, arranging transportation, and reviewing documents
  • For GS-4 level: One year of general clerical or office experience showing ability to learn job skills
  • Knowledge of travel entitlements, passport requirements, and security clearances
  • Ability to reconcile billing statements and resolve carrier discrepancies
  • Proficiency in using automated systems for travel arrangements, including overseas
  • Strong attention to detail for ensuring document completeness and accuracy

GS-6: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing solutions to travel and passport issues; 2) Monitoring work to determine compliance with travel contracts; 3) Using accounting techniques and research to investigate financial errors that need reconciliation or reconstruction of data; 4) Arranging transportation services using automated systems for travelers, including overseas; and 5) Review itineraries and other travel documents for completeness and accuracy.

GS-5: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
