It's an entry-level federal role in the Navy's supply system, based in California.
You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT in the PERSONAL PROPERTY (PPO), HOUSEHOLD GOODS (HHG) PROGRAM OFFICE of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Transportation Assistant experience equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with knowledge and application of an extensive body of transportation rules, procedures rates or operations governing entitlements and documentation requirements of domestic or foreign shipments to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard procedural assignments and resolve a wide range of problems pertaining to the personal property function.
I have experience and knowledge of personal property and POV shipping and storage entitlements and the difference between entitlements among the different branches of service members and civilians to inform them of entitlements and limitations authorized by the government, mover's liabilities and non-shipment of prohibited items.
Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Interpreting and applying transportation and traffic management relations, policies, directives and orders of all branches of the armed forces for the purpose of determining the entitlements authorizing shipment/storage according to rank and type of orders 2) Knowledge of automated systems to reconcile errors that require an understanding of nonstandard transportation procedures; 3) Providing subject-matter assistance in the development of automated transportation procedures for clerical operations; 4) Knowledge of Contract PWS, Contract QASP, commercial carrier tariffs, tenders, shipping practices, and various shipment modes in order to select the most economical mode of shipment, storage, and/or delivery service possible; 5) Coordinating all aspects of shipping/storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles (POV's).
