The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the management of the technical training program, formal school training, aircrew manning and qualification levels, and to serve as resource advisor for an Airlift Squadron.
THIS IS TERM APPOINTMENT POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 24 MONTHS.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge and skill in applying a comprehensive body of training rules, procedures, and technical methods; Knowledge of overall phases of the Air Force and AMC training programs to determine most expedient means/methods for implementing changes in air operations and aircrew education and training programs.
Knowledge of training techniques and principles to assist in the planning and execution of the air operations and aircrew training programs.
OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the Airlift Squadron (AMC) mission as it relates to aircrew mission objectives and aircrew integration.
Knowledge of aircrew-based programs and objectives in order to identify training requirements, skill upgrades and development programs that will assists in meeting 21/22 AS aircrew training and operations objectives.
Knowledge and ability to analyze operations training plans and requirements, identify weaknesses and resolve technical problems.
Knowledge of training methods, policies, procedures, regulations, instructions, and documentation requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in order to resolve conflicts, provide guidance, and accomplish necessary report required by higher headquarters.
Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make decisions and recommendations.
Ability to interpret and manage Unit Manning Documents (UMDs). Knowledge of operational budgetary and ABSS policies/procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Manage student flow, administrative policies and procedures ensuring compliance with Headquarters, Air Mobility Command (AMC) directives, and establishment of training requirements to qualify members on assigned aircraft in accordance with AMC.
Manage phases of aircrew training. Monitor Air education training command (AETC) formal training courses. Manage weapon systems Aircrew Training System (ATS) contractor required training courses.
Prepare and brief commander and staff at monthly 21/22 AS AMC training Review Process (TRP) to the Commander and his staff. Manage enlisted Career Development Course (CDC) program.
Responsible for collection of data for the quarterly, or as required. Perform duties as resource advisor. Initiate correspondence.
