About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Specialist in Models & Simulation Division for the Join Multinational Simulation Center (JMSC) at Mission Training Complex - Vicenza (MTC-V) providing direct support of operational and training requirements in support of commander centric home- station based exercises.

Incumbent is responsible for all technical efforts in support of training, exercises and contingency operations in the USAEUR-AF Areas of Operations.

For the GS-12, Specialized experience is defined as: one year of specialized experience equivalent at least to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service providing the direction, management, and execution of the Models and Simulation (M&S) program in support of the unit, coordinating training, and contingency operations responsive and relevant in order to prepare soldiers, units, staffs, and leaders for operations in Army, Joint and Combined Force environments responsible for all technical efforts in support of training, exercises, and contingency operation.

Major Duties:

  • Advise Commanders and training officers in the use of simulation to meet training objectives.
  • Conduct analytical studies and recommends policy and procedures for the use of the Models or families of simulations to support Army, Joint, and Combined exercises, training, and modeling efforts.
  • Resolve critical, technical problems in existing systems or models, using knowledge of established guidelines, and application of Army simulations and modeling practices, policies and procedures.
  • Influence comprehensive studies to identify and propose solutions to simulations model deficiencies.
  • Provide tasks and guidelines for daily operations monitoring and evaluating the technical performance of support services contractors in the use of modeling and simulation.
  • Develop strategies for integrating Models and Simulation into current and future training requirements.
