You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (SMALL ARMS) in the Commandant Cost Center Waterfront Readiness of NAVAL ACADEMY.
GS 11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Implementing established safety standards, operational procedures for firearms ranges, and secure practices for weapons and ammunition storage areas; 2) Instructing individuals and groups in marksmanship fundamentals, firearms safety, and advanced shooting techniques by presenting established curriculum, conducting practical exercises, and evaluating student performance; 3) Inspecting and maintaining physical storage facilities to ensure compliance with all explosive safety standards, and assisting in the accountability and administration of ammunition and ordnance; and 4) Inventorying government weapons, including serialized firearms, by participating in quarterly and annual counts and maintaining associated documentation for shipping, receiving, storage, and transport.

GS 09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in the operation of a training program by performing safety inspections, maintaining equipment, and providing logistical support; 2) Applying basic instructional principles to demonstrate safe firearms use and enforce safety rules on a firing range under direct supervision; 3) Performing routine inventory and record-keeping duties for assets and ammunition to ensure compliance with security procedures; and 4) Following and enforcing established safety standards and range procedures in a training environment.

Individual Occupational Requirements Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
