The primary purpose of this position TRAINING INSTRUCTOR, NH-1712-02, is to serve as a qualified specialist in the development of course curricula and materials and to conduct classroom training and instruction for Maintenance, Technical, Financial, Production Planning and Work Load Management.
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the Training Instruction Series, 1712.
Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 years of general experience, 1 year (52 weeks) of which is equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems.
Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related.
General experience is described as experience demonstrating the ability to: Teach or instruct in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervise or administer a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Possess a practical knowledge of the subject area being taught and a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction.

OR EDUCATION: Applicant must have successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed qualifying education and experience to meet total experience requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, andresolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues.
Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books.
No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment.
The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

Major Duties:
Manage, develop, deliver, and instruct a variety of technical trainings.
Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Participate in special manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operation projects and initiatives and perform special assignments.
Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
