Job Description

Summary

This job involves creating and delivering training programs focused on radiological safety, health, environmental protection, quality control, and related skills for workers at a naval shipyard.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT & QUALITY DIVISION, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing and conducting training courses involving radiological control programs such as Radcon, Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Control, Skills, and Cleanliness.

Experience initiating course content changes in requirements or technical advances Experience developing different methods of instruction when needed to improve a course Experience reviewing work practice discrepancy information and auditing work in progress to assess potential changes in course material Experience developing course objectives, curricula, training plans, and instructional materials based on verbal or written information on requirements GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience conducting training courses involving radiological control programs such as Radcon, Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Control, Skills, and Cleanliness.

Experience maintaining, updating, and reviewing subject matter training courses, instructional material, references, etc.

  • You will conduct assessments and task analyses to determine learning objectives and develop training schedules.
  • You will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.
  • You will modify lesson plans consistent with the needs and make-up of the class using state-of-the-art and professional development.
  • You will integrate systematic work requirements into training to provide a conceptual knowledge of skills while promoting safe work practices.
  • You will be responsible for the improvement and modification of training for assigned courses.
