This TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST position, is located in the Distribution Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing and is part of the CA 129 RQW.
General Experience: Possess experience, education or training developing policies and administering the management of traffic programs, planning and directing traffic operations within the program and performs necessary technical work involved in obtaining economical and efficient transportation of equipment, supplies, and personnel in support of these operations TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government.
This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated.
Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: the movement of freight or passengers and determining transportation and operating costs; Experience participating in the direction and coordination of traffic management functions; Interpreting regulations/requirements and developing local policies to implement changes effectively; Experience applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures; Experience preparing reports and recommendations involving appeals, special permits, adjustments in rates and charges.
Experience which involved negotiations with carriers on individual shipments or traffic movement.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION. Indefinite appointment cannot exceed 5 years.
Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.
The primary purpose of the TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2130-9, is to serve as a Distribution Traffic Management Specialist, which provides technical expertise, support and execution relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime.
Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes Deployment and Distribution programs. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
