Job Description
The Trades Tech III serves as a senior-level technical specialist and working supervisor responsible for overseeing daily operations within an assigned section of the Sheriff’s Office. This position provides leadership to technical staff, ensures compliance with safety and operational standards, and performs highly complex installations and repairs in the assigned trade area.

Essential Duties
  • Serving as lead worker by assigning and monitoring daily work
  • Providing direction and support to staff
  • Performing complex installations in the assigned area
  • Performing complex repairs on equipment and systems
  • Inspecting equipment to identify needed repairs
  • Determining repair needs and taking corrective action
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintaining supplies and equipment inventory
  • Keeping work areas clean and safe
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Following work instructions in a respectful and positive manner.
Public Speaking Duties
  • Communicating with coworkers, supervisors, and the public
  • Sharing information and responding to questions
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • Pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
  • On-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is B23(3).

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of trades experience
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Valid driver's license
