Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the trademark program for the Department of Defense's public affairs office, including setting policies, protecting trademarks, and overseeing related activities at the Pentagon.

It requires handling legal aspects of trademarks and leading program implementation from start to finish.

A good fit would be someone with experience in intellectual property law, policy development, and project management, ideally from government or legal backgrounds.

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of War (DOW), Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs (OATSW(PA)).

The OATSW (PA) is responsible to the Secretary of War for public information, internal information, community relations, public affairs professional development, and audiovisual matters.

This position is located in the Pentagon. The incumbent is responsible for trademark program management and functions and establishing policies.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to interpret and utilize laws, principles, concepts and standards needed to protect trademarks; apply management principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies/procedures governing the implementation of the trademark program; and develop plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating/reporting on accomplishments/problems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
