THIS IS A INDEFINITE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS TECHNICIAN EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. The National Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Major Duties:

Position Description # D1632000 POSITION DUTIES: This flight crew position is located in the Air Operations Group of an ANG flying wing assigned heavy multi-engine transport aircraft with a basic crew configuration of one pilot, one copilot and one loadmaster.

These aircraft are equipped with advanced flight management systems that enable the pilots to fly the aircraft without the assistance of navigators or flight engineers.

This position is primarily responsible for providing ground and flight training instruction for developing, upgrading, and evaluating the skills of loadmaster aircrew members; assisting the pilot in the operation of the aircraft; performing loadmaster duties on assigned missions; and accomplishing related staff work.

This sole enlisted crewmember is assigned significant additional preflight, in-flight and post flight duties.

Typical missions assigned the unit include the airlift of equipment and personnel, combat airdrop, medical evacuation, polar operations, search and rescue, fire fighting, special operations, combat aircrew training, formal school, and counter drug intelligence and reconnaissance.

MAJOR DUTIES: 1. Conducts loadmaster training to ensure worldwide capability. Training includes initial and mission qualification as well as continuation, upgrade and specialized training.

Provides actual formal classroom instruction and on-the-job experience through flying simulated or real-world missions. Analyzes and interprets guidance. 2.

Provides direct assistance to the aircraft Pilot: (a) Performs preflight inspection of the interior and exterior of the aircraft, to include engines, fuselage, and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness.

(b) Reviews aircraft maintenance documentation and ensures aircraft maintenance status complies with the command operating restrictions and the applicable flight manual.

(c) During all aircraft operations, monitors engine and aircraft system performance, analyzes instrument readings, and identifies abnormal indications or system malfunctions. 3.

Accomplishes loadmaster functions: (a) Prior to flight, accomplishes preflight checks, inspection, acceptance, and operation of all aircraft loading equipment, and systems.

(b) Develops and certifies cargo load plans considering quantity, weight, configuration, floor capacity, compartment restrictions and proper location within the aircraft to achieve the optimum center of gravity.

(c) Ascertains fuel, passenger and cargo weights. Computes weight and balance to determine proper weight distribution and provides timely and correct takeoff and landing data.

(d) Briefs passengers on flight itinerary, use of emergency equipment, emergency exits, and procedures for egress, oxygen use, life preservers, electronic devices and movement about the aircraft before, during and after flight.

Performs staff work based on specialized knowledge of the unit's mission, assigned aircraft and the related programs to ensure safe and successful accomplishment of required training, assigned mission support and airlift support requirements.

Takes necessary action to ensure that all requisites involved in mission planning are identified, coordinated and accomplished. 5. Performs other Duties and assigned.
