This role involves leading a team in a lab that examines tissue samples to help diagnose diseases, overseeing daily operations, training staff, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.
A good fit would be someone with experience supervising lab technicians, a strong background in pathology or medical lab work, and skills in managing people and improving processes in a healthcare setting.

Experience managing the overall organization, financial/budgetary, planning, and personnel of an approved laboratory* section and/or department.Experience in immunohistochemical staining.
Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)**.

Additional Information Examination Content:This examination will consist of an evaluation of experience based upon, application information, desirable qualifications, and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%.
Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be placed on the eligible register.
Eligibility Information: Applications will be processed on an "as-received" basis and those receiving a passing score will be promulgated to the eligible register accordingly.
The names of candidates receiving a passing score on the examination will be added to the eligible register and will appear in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of eligibility.
No person may compete in this examination more than once every twelve (12) months.
SPECIAL INFORMATION:Vacancy Information:The resulting eligible register for this examination will be used to fill vacancies throughout the Department of Health Services (DHS) as they occur.
