Key Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field

  • Eligibility for certification as a Certified Preadmission Screening Clinician (CPASC)
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours
  • Successful completion of background checks, including fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test

The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Therapist in the Emergency Services program. Requirements

The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is currently seeking temporary, part-time Therapists.

As the Commonwealth of Virginia transitions to the Crisis Now Model (https://crisisnow.com/), the Emergency Services Program seeks dynamic mental health clinicians to add to a rapidly growing team of mobile mental health professionals who specialize in crisis intervention and stabilization services. Successful candidates excel in complex, fast paced, fluid clinic and community-based environments, and use their expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities to link individuals in crisis, their families, and support systems to treatment options. Emergency Services Therapists support 24/7/365 crisis response with: excellent rapport building, astute clinical acumen, creative problem solving, adaptability to rapidly changing, often competing changes in demands for service, and a collaborative approach to community services.

This position is part of the relief pool. Schedule is not set and includes any open shifts in the program. Available shifts vary and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and other county closures.

Qualifications

Master's degree and currently possess professional licensure through the VA Department of Health Professions Board as a: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP); two (2) years of professional mental health and/or substance use, which may include internship experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Medical Doctor (MD)
  • Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking abilities.

Additional Information

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.

Candidates must:
  • Be eligible for certification as a Certified Preadmission Screening Clinician (CPASC) in accordance with VA DBHDS regulations.
  • Adhere to INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center contractor policies.
  • Be eligible to be a certified Notary Public.
