Join the Iowa Department of Transportation in keeping Iowa’s roadways safe and clear this winter season. As a Temporary Winter Maintenance Worker, you’ll play a key role in maintaining highways and roads during snowstorms, icy conditions, and cold weather, ensuring safe travel for all Iowans.

Location: Statewide
Pay:
- New Seasonal Workers - $22.00/hour
- Returning Seasonal Workers - $23.50/hour (Returning is defined as anyone who has worked as a seasonal worker since Oct 1, 2020)
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Attention to detail with a commitment to safety
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Dates:
- October 10th, 2025 – April 23rd, 2026
Positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing as well as other drug and alcohol testing requirements.
