THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS) - $18.00/HOUR depending on experience.

EMPLOYMENT STARTS February-March THROUGH July-August.

Requirements

Job Description:

Responsible for all general State Wildlife Area maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including: restrooms, vault toilets, picnic areas, trails, etc. Operates and performs

routine maintenance on State owned vehicles and equipment. Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness. Provides information and assistance to visitors.

May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.

NOTE:

This position is up to 40 hours per week and up to 6 months in duration. Housing is NOT provided.


Qualifications

  • BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be at least 16 years of age
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a current motor vehicle report.
    • Must be willing to work outside during hot and inclement weather.
    • Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday.
    • Knowledge of power tools and hand tools preferred.
    • Knowledge of small engine and other equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
    • First Aid and CPR certifications may be required.
    • Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays

  • Have an assigned State fleet vehicle

  • Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position

  • Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
