Job Description

Summary

This job is for a senior technician in the Navy who helps install and upgrade electronic systems on shore bases, working closely with engineers and teams to coordinate projects and solve problems on-site.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the LOGISTICS AND LIFE CYCLE ENGINEERING (40000) of NIWC ATLANTIC.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: technical expertise in installation, modernization, and troubleshooting of shore platform systems, along with strong skills in coordination, problem-solving, and communication with internal teams and external contractors.

  • You will serve as a Senior Technician, supporting installation and modernization services for shore platforms. Primary focus will be to assist IPT and Project Engineers with on-site coordination of the installation and modernization efforts.
  • You will review and track hardware/software technical documentation to ensure accurate fielding and work plans are in support of Performance Work Statement (PWS) development.
  • You will communicate with internal and external customers and leadership, technical leaders, and managers to plan, install, monitor, and test and evaluate highly complex and technical electrical/electronic systems.
  • You will apply a wide range of technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques, and practices in the area of shore installation.
  • You will develop and provide technical input to plans and solutions for equipment installation, integration and interoperability, risk management and mitigation, work estimates, and work schedules.
