**This is a Project Position**

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and collaborative training professional who excels at understanding business process changes and translating them into clear, effective learning solutions.

They will work closely with project leads, subject matter experts, and staff to identify training needs and develop materials that support teams through operational changes.

They are skilled in designing, developing, and delivering training and documentation—such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)—that help staff adapt to new systems and workflows resulting from agency initiatives, including the state’s OneWa remediation project.

The ideal candidate is also an active participant in business readiness efforts and provides strong support to the Operational Readiness Manager, ensuring that impacted units are well-prepared for upcoming transitions.

As the Technical Training Consultant for the Product, Planning & Performance (PPP) Division and as a member of the Training Team, you will develop a remote and on-site training model to provide training and support to system users within the agency related to system implementations, business process and/or policy change.

This full-time/permanent Technical Training Consultant role is primarily telework; however, you may need to report to the office for occasional meetings or special events.


Requirements

As a senior level subject matter expert, you will plan, design, develop and implement statewide virtual and in person eLearning and classroom training. You will also develop a variety of reference materials to compliment training and support system users on an ongoing basis.

Some of your daily tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Help coordinate the state’s OneWa training for ESD staff and build supplemental training to enhance system users’ knowledge for go-live readiness.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to deliver training to staff and prepare training materials.
  • Develop training materials, including handouts, job aids, models, multimedia visual aids, video tutorials, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Consult with management on all aspects of training for division-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Lead ESD staff with expertise in OneWa remediation system usage and training, supporting the delivery of ESD system changes associated with the State of Washington’s system updates.
  • Determine the cadence of trainings to ensure staff are comfortable with and knowledgeable about updates to system functionality.
  • Build and maintain system knowledge by attending business requirements-gathering sessions, product development meetings, project knowledge sessions, and collaborating with subject matter experts.
  • Work with agency cross-functional teams to lead, interpret, and translate complex information related to the implementation of agency systems into training content (e.g., lessons) for both self-paced and instructor-led learning.
  • Research advancements in technologies and methods associated with e-learning, online training platforms, and curriculum development.
  • Stay current with job functions by reviewing all process and policy updates.
  • Collaborate with leads and subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy of training information and materials.

Qualifications


REQUIRED:


Option 1:

Nine (9) years of experience developing and delivering trainings. Which should include two years of experience related to technical IT training.

Option 2:

Associate’s degree with focus on business, human resources, computer science, adult education or related field, AND Seven (7) years of experience developing and delivering training which should include two years of experience related to technical IT training.

Option 3:

Bachelor’s Degree with focus on business, human resources, computer science, adult education or related field AND Five (5) years of experience developing and delivering training which should include two years of experience related to technical IT training.

  • Instructional Design Skills: Proficiency in structuring engaging e-learning content.
  • Assessment and Evaluation Expertise: Ability to determine gaps in knowledge and skill.
  • Technology Research Expertise: Ability to track and assess advancements in instructional methods.
  • Program Evaluation Skills: Proficiency in analyzing training effectiveness using data-driven insights.
  • Process Improvement Expertise: Ability to refine and enhance training methodologies.
  • Leadership and Mentorship Expertise: Ability to guide and oversee training professionals.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting systems or ERP implementation.
  • Experience in change management, Lean, and/or Human-Centered Design.

Additional Requirement of Employment:
