THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for aT5 SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) , Position Description Number PDT6376700 and is part of theSC USPFO, South Carolina National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L.

114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements. This position is open to Area 1 Only.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Include experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.

Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.Must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance level.

State or territory may designate a different level through use of the OPM Position Designation Tool. 2.

Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level within 6 months of employment pending training seat availability.

3. Must complete Fiscal Law training and maintain financial training requirements. 4.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel NGB-J1. Major Duties:

***This is a Title 5 National Guard Employee position description.*** This position is located at the Joint Force Headquarters (State) in the Chief Information Officer (CIO/J6/G6) Directorate.

Serves as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist responsible for the management of all aspects of network services and infrastructure to include but not limited to IT systems administration, and telecommunications services within the information management organization.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for supervising first and second tier technical support delivery and administrative services, managing budget and procurement actions within the scope of the program.

This position functions as the Network Branch Chief and Network Operations Manager.

Work in this series includes managing, supervising, leading, administering, developing, delivering, and supporting information technology (IT) systems and services.

This series covers only those positions for which the paramount requirement is knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods, e.g., data storage, software applications, networking.
