This internship involves helping the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy by reviewing grants related to sustainability, finding positive stories from them, and writing short news articles to share on their website.
It's a 15-week summer program starting in May 2026, where you'll work up to 29 hours a week in a mix of office, remote, and possibly field settings in Lansing.
It's ideal for college juniors, seniors, or grad students interested in environmental issues and clear communication, who want hands-on experience turning real projects into engaging public updates.

EGLE’s Summer Internship program is a 15-week intensive experience that integrates a student’s knowledge and classroom theory with practical application and skills development in a professional workplace setting.
Students will work with various divisions, offices, and locations across the State of Michigan experiencing hybrid, remote, and field work depending on the internship project needs.Additional information about EGLE’s Summer Internship Program:
Educational Requirements:
You must be actively enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution and reached junior or senior level status going into fall 2025 or an actively enrolled graduate student.
