This job involves working outdoors as a surveyor for Pennsylvania's environmental protection department, focusing on mapping and data collection for abandoned mine cleanup projects to ensure safe and legal development.
You'll lead teams in the field, resolve issues with land boundaries and rights-of-way, and collaborate with engineers on complex problems.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on surveying experience who enjoys precision work and solving real environmental challenges.
As a Surveyor 1, you will perform field work with a group of survey corps engaged in engineering surveys to collect, record, and plot data for various engineering projects, development, design, and construction phases of projects and map-making purposes for the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation.
Part of your role will involve gathering and reviewing data from various legal, technical, and professional sources to resolve any discrepancies related to property lines, easements, rights-of-way, or any problems related to land surveying throughout the Commonwealth.
You will supervise surveys of high complexity which may involve unusual or difficult problems, as well as consult with engineering personnel to resolve issues of an engineering nature within all sections of the bureau.
