THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1193000 and is part of the KY FMS 2, National Guard.

***NOTE: Indefinite employment is temporary and is expected to last more than one year but no more than five consecutive years.*** Continued employment is not guaranteed and is subject to annual competition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience using a variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs.

Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts/components/accessories. Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles.

Experience maintaining the operation of the various systems. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.

(Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER-TITLE 32, WG-5801-8, you will troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.

Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul major systems. Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures.

Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems.

Independently perform repairs and maintenance functions by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems.

Conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and equipment. Perform operational inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced.

May maintain and repair equipment to include removing and replacing components and elements. Performs other duties as assigned.
