This job involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy military vehicles and equipment, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, often in a team setting within the Army National Guard.
It requires hands-on mechanical work in workshops or remote locations to keep combat and tactical vehicles operational.
A good fit would be someone with military experience as an enlisted soldier or warrant officer who enjoys complex diagnostics and has at least 18 months of specialized repair work.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1194000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4 - CSMS / MD 6021-133).
Military Grades: Enlisted (E1 to E9) or Warrant Officer (WO1) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Must have 18 months) Experience or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems.
Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment.
Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems.
Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems.
