This job involves repairing and maintaining heavy military vehicles and equipment, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, for the Missouri Army National Guard.
It requires hands-on troubleshooting and major overhauls to keep combat and tactical vehicles in working order.
A good fit would be someone with military service experience, strong mechanical skills, and a passion for fixing complex machinery.
These are National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Positions.
These are Permanent WG-5801-10 SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1194000 and are part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop. These are bargaining positions.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard.
Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience which demonstrates your experience in diagnosing, repairing, overhauling and modifying a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles and equipment.
The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems.
Experience that demonstrates your ability to utilize, interpret and apply parts list, manufacturer's repair manuals, technical manuals, diagrams, engineering drawings, diagnostic computer information and schematics.
