Summary

This job involves helping manage budgets, track employee time, and handle supplies for projects in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, mainly at sites in Arkansas.

About the Position: This is a Support Services Specialist, GS-0342-07 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa and Little Rock District and located in Multiple locations.

This position may be filled at the full performance of GS-07. Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: One year of experience to include performing at least 2 out of 3 of the following duties:1) tracking budget allocations or expenditures for an organizational budget and 2) analyzing organizational staff timekeeping data an automated system and 3) tracking contracted services for completion prior to payment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical wok performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service GS-06.

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

Add the two percentages.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Flexibility Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Reading Comprehension Stress Tolerance Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Monitor obligations and expenditures throughout the execution phase of the operating budgets.
  • Consult with Project Area Office Managers on work schedules, material procurement and personnel matters which will affect the operating budget.
  • Plan work to include establishing schedules to meet priorities and suspense dates.
  • Prepare documents to order goods, supplies and services at a dual lake operating Project Office(s).
  • Analyze timekeeping data using an automated reporting system.
