About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Supply Technician within the Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River the medical treatment facility (MTF), with responsibility for performing a wide range of systematized supply operations for material, equipment, and publication to include maintaining records, inventory, storage, cataloging, micro-purchase acquisition procedures and receipt control processes.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Examining a variety of receipt documents, 2) Ensuring medical and surgical supply needs are fulfilled per contract, and 3) Responding to customer inquiries such as how to initiate a requisition, how to return items, or status of ordered items.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Responds to customer inquiries.
  • Examines a variety of receipt documents (e.g., Purchase Card and Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) receipt documents.
  • Ensures the documents support the actual receipt of supplies or services.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for Prime Vendor (PV) program and liaison between the facility, PV, and DHA.
  • Maintains purchase card files according to applicable regulations.
