Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team that supports victims and witnesses in federal criminal cases, ensuring they receive help and resources during legal proceedings in the U.S.

To qualify as a GS-13, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as providing authoritative technical advice and guidance to other victim assistance staff, managers, attorneys, and legal support staff; responding to data calls and required compliance surveys and audits; maintaining financial records, participating in audits and submitting financial reports and documents as required; and developing procedures for identifying, tracking, and managing victim cases.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.

If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing comprehensive support to victims and witnesses in the Victim Witness Section of the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas.

Typical work assignments will include: -Analyze, evaluate, and administer comprehensive programs, projects, and support activities directly impacting the effectiveness of the office.

-Allocate and reprogram resources within the organization as required to accommodate changing conditions.

-Ensure delivery of quality services through a continuous review of program accomplishments against established objectives.

-Develop and implement a comprehensive Victim Witness Assistance Program that provide support and assistance to victims and/or witnesses of crime.

-Ensure all internal controls are properly applied to all transactions to ensure 100% accountability and documentation of disbursement of funds.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.
