Full Job Description

The Supervisory Store Associate serves as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store.

The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.

Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees.

Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers.

Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. (specialized experience) equivalent to at least GS-07.

Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.

You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods.

(2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.

Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.

Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary. Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control.

Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection display and rotation.
