About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at USCYBERCOM - Ft.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by one year of experience ensuring compliance with physical security requirements/regulations to prevent physical security violations; oversight of SCIFs inspections and accreditations to identify security vulnerabilities; ensure Physical Security programs, to included but not limited to Anti-terrorism/force protection, SCIF inspections, foreign partner access, etc are established and maintained; provide oversight of all internal and external classified government contracts to ensure compliance with national industrial security protocols and regulations.

Major Duties:

  • Provides technical oversight and manages resources to assure key, safe, and physical security assessments/requests are completed in a timely manner, as dictated by defined standards. Leads the conduct of all physical security inquiries.
  • Conducts counseling sessions with affiliates regarding all physical security violations.
  • Provide expert advisement and guidance to Command personnel and leadership on SCIF accreditation processes and requirements, in coordination with accrediting officials.
  • Provides first level supervision and directs daily operations of civilian, contractor and military employees.
  • Collaborates and consults with contractors to initiate the full range of measures necessary to bring facilities and security-related business processes up to established standards.
  • Maintains database records to capture relevant information on all contractor clearances and to facilitate contractors’ initiation of classified visit requests in support of the Command’s operations.
  • Plans for and leads continuing inspections of contractor work spaces within USCYBERCOM/NSA areas where contractors are authorized to possess sensitive information to assure adherence to established security requirements.
  • Performs periodic reviews of facilities and the personnel working there to assess contractors’ implementation of physical controls and business processes to protect against espionage and simple “leakage” of classified and sensitive information.
  • Makes substantive contributions to after-action reports and assessments, drawing on lessons learned to identify and make recommendations for noted deficiencies or vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure Physical Security programs, to included but not limited to Anti-terrorism/force protection, SCIF inspections, foreign partner access, etc are established and maintained.
  • Supervise mission requirements to ensure all applicable physical and industrial security requirements are maintained at highest standards.
  • Prepares required reports and ensures the Division’s and contractors’ consistent compliance to all industrial security management processes.
  • Reviews security incidents and assists in determining appropriate corrective actions.
