This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: U.S.

Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) handles the day-to-day operations of Army installations ........The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Security Guard at Carlisle Barracks, PA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization leading/supervising personnel performing access control operations, safeguarding personnel, information and critical assets, using physical access control equipment, regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to include providing initial response to traffic accidents, answering regulatory and procedural questions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Major Duties:

  • Advise visitors to assist them in compliance with security procedures and requirements.
  • Deny access to unauthorized personnel in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Adjust organization or work priorities quickly in response to a new mission or requirements.
  • Establish work schedules, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work of subordinates.
  • Provide oral instructions regarding policies and procedures to the security force.
  • Report matters involving security or the safety of personnel and property to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare special reports to document unusual situations and conditions encountered.
  • Write reports on security violation incidents to comply with proper reporting procedures.
