Requirements Continued: You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home occasionally. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old, or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
This probationary or trial period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.

Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized.
In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.

To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
Specialized experience is experience which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of this position.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: 1) managing with a revenue collection program; 2) leading or supervising a fee/revenue collection staff; 3) evaluating and analyzing visitation trends and revenue generation to improve efficiency; 4) managing fee operations in a campground or entrance station; 5) managing a business; and 6) reconciliation of expenditures, creating financial reports, and creating and maintaining databases.
Experience equivalent to the GS-07 may be professional work at the developmental or trainee level. Lower graded technical work alone is not qualifying for this series.

-OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or successfully completed at least two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, accounting, or other closely related subjects OR LL.B.
or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. You must provide transcripts that demonstrate graduate level coursework.

Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants.
To combine education and experience, first take percentage of required graduate education. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together.
The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must provide transcripts that demonstrate graduate level coursework and include hours worked per week on your resume.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include hours worked per week on your resume. Major Duties:
Coordinate the day-to-day business operations of a park level fee organization, to include the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fees and donations.
Prepare portions of fee program planning documents for park level fee operations and/or seasonal staffing priorities.
Provide authoritative instruction and training to lower-level employees regarding the implementation of fee program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures.
Ensure the maintenance and operation of point-of-sale systems, computer applications, and peripheral fee collection devices such as hand-held devices, tablets, scanning devices, and automated fee machines used by the organization's fee program.
Ensure all collected fees are safeguarded, accounted for, and remitted and reconciled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Research, compile, and analyze data on park-level fee program operations and identify trends and patterns in the development and management of recreation fees.
Recommend changes to fee program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures to improve fee operations.
Coordinate the implementation of new procedures, plans, and systems to improve the inhouse tracking of fees, tours, campgrounds, events, permits, etc.
Coordinate the implementation of new automated fee collection and/or public reservation systems and applications at the park level.
Monitor the use of existing automated systems and make recommendations to management to improve visitor satisfaction.
Depending on duty station, this may be a career-seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures.
A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis.
As such, selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions.
Selectee are guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment.
