Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) applying real estate principles to oversee the full lifecycle of property acquisition, management, and/or disposal, 2) manage real estate easement and lease agreements by monitoring terms and ensuring compliance, 3) analyze financial data to evaluate real estate transactions 4) implement innovative marketing approaches to promote real estate.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Auditing Human Resources Management Planning and Evaluating Real Estate Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Oversee the disposal of real property; government property that owners may have defaulted on; government insured loans, or leases expire; or as a result of police activity or litigation.
  • Direct major projects such as acquiring thousands of acres of land; overseeing projects requiring the cooperation of the Federal, State, or local governments and/or private entities.
  • Administer granting easements, issue loans, licenses, and/or permits for a variety of uses, both public and private.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates such as set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work; assign work to subordinates based on priorities.
  • Conducts audits of real estate transactions to ensure the integrity of data and conformance with legal and regulatory requirements.
