Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and managing counseling, advocacy, and prevention programs for Navy personnel and their families at a base in Florida, including overseeing clinical services and responding to crises.

It requires strong leadership in mental health support and policy implementation.

Ideal candidates are experienced clinical professionals, such as counselors or psychologists, with supervisory skills and a passion for helping military communities.

Key Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or clinical/counseling psychology from an accredited program
  • State or U.S. territory license or certification as an independent practitioner in Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling Psychology
  • Passing score on required state licensing examination
  • Two years of full-time post-master's supervised clinical experience
  • Two years of full-time clinical experience after obtaining independent licensure or certification
  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 level or equivalent in leadership, management, policy, program, and resource management for counseling and prevention programs
  • Tier Three clinical care practitioner status with clinical supervisor eligibility per SECNAVINST 1754.8

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Regional Counseling Advocacy and Prevention Program Coordinator of COMNAVREG SE JAX.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: Providing leadership, management, policy, program, and resource management expertise for the Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) programs and providing execution to support the clinical services to the eligible installation population.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates.

The selective placement factor is:This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility.

Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8:1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: a.

Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR b.

Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR c.

Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR d.

Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship. 2.

State or U.S.

territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.

3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination. 4.

Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience AND have two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification.
