This job is for a district manager who oversees food safety inspections and public health regulations for meat, poultry, and egg products in the Chicago area.
The role involves leading teams, setting policies, and ensuring compliance to protect consumers from health risks.
It's ideal for experienced leaders with a background in regulatory management and team supervision who are passionate about public health.
The District Manager (DM) position being filled from this announcement is located in the Chicago District Office in Lombard, IL.
The DM is responsible for delivery of major aspects of the Agency's food safety and public health regulatory mission.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in grade: Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g.
one year at the GS-14 grade level for consideration for the GS-15 grade level.) For the GS-15 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-14 level).
Specialized experience for this position must have provided you with the ability to: Manage a multi-level, multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed workforce.
Review, implement and assess a meat, poultry, and egg products inspection program.
Demonstrate the ability to evaluate and develop solutions to complex regulatory, personnel management and enforcement areas as they relate to goals and priorities for food safety, regulatory enforcement and public health.
Exercise responsibility and authority for managing a full range of public health regulatory and other consumer protection program activities.
