Full Job Description

You will serve as a Police Sergeant (shift supervisor) at the GG-10 grade level responsible for performing law enforcement operational duties and exercising full supervisory responsibilities during an assigned shift in one of the police units within ONI, N7 Security and Law Enforcement Department.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: Participating in the planning, scheduling, and oversight of assigned shift uniformed police officers (military or civilian).

Maintaining law and order within a federal jurisdiction to protect agency facilities, perimeters, materials, personnel and information.

Assigning and ensuring work assignments are carried out in compliance with organization standard operating procedures, policies, current law enforcement techniques and skills.

Preparing reports of shift activities and other law enforcement related reports, forms, and correspondence as necessary.

  • You will supervise any of the three normally scheduled shifts or special shifts as dictated by mission requirements.
  • You will perform the full range of police operational duties assuring compliance with Federal, State, local municipal laws and ordinances, and agency rules, policies, and regulations to maintain law and order.
  • You will qualify and carry open or concealed firearms (semi-automatic and automatic weapons) to protect self and others against threats.
  • You will participate on emergency response teams and respond/mitigate incidents that threaten highly sensitive National Security interests.
  • You will prepare reports of shift activities and other law enforcement related reports, forms, and correspondence as necessary
