The Supervisory Management Analyst serves as a critical administrative leader within the Medicine Service at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.
The primary objective of this role is to provide comprehensive oversight and management of all administrative operations and essential to the Service's daily functions.
With full delegated authority, the incumbent makes key management decisions and collaborates closely with Clinical Nurse Practice Leaders to ensure that administrative actions align.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/19/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Extracts, analyzes, and provides pertinent program data.
Participates in the development of clinical decision-support systems. Consults, advises, and educates on methods and means to make health care operations more effective and efficient.
Assists clinical business end users in reengineering business processes to integrate knowledge of clinical and information processes to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies to support health care operations and systems.
Applies statistical analyses and interprets their significance, including validity of measures used to generate outcomes related to patient management systems.

Major Duties:
The duties of the Supervisory Management Analyst, GS12 Program Analysis and Strategic Evaluation Performance Metrics and Compliance: Conducts in-depth qualitative and quantitative assessments to monitor workload productivity and compliance with Medical Center performance measures.
Data-Driven Decision Support: Analyzes pertinent data to provide specific recommendations for resources use, including setting priorities for the procurement of new medical technology and equipment.
Process Improvement: Evaluates various programs within the Medicine Service and recommends data-driven changes to enhance operational efficiency.
Reporting and Briefings: Establishes and monitors procedures for tracking performance data, preparing comprehensive reports for management briefings at the facility, VISN, and VA Central Office levels.
Committee Participation: Represents the service on various facility committees, process action teams, and working groups, often serving in a leadership or chair capacity to drive quality improvement.
Administrative Support and Operational Coordination External Liaison: Manages responses to Congressional inquiries and patient complaints, ensuring timely and professional communication.
Fiscal Management: Serves as Fund Control Point Official, overseeing the allocation and expenditure of funds within the service.
Clinical Support Coordination: Coordinates responses for high-level reviews, including Peer Reviews and Medical Advisory Expert Reviews.
Facility Safety and Training: Ensures the service remains in compliance with occupational safety standards and that all employees complete mandatory training requirements.
Incident Investigations: Investigates job-related illnesses or injuries, ensures proper documentation, and manages light-duty assignments for recovering staff.
Credentialing and Liaison: Acts as a liaison with academic affiliates and assists the Medical Staff Office with credentialing and privileging matters for medical personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities Staff Oversight: Provides direct technical and administrative supervision to a unit Personnel Action: Interviews candidates for unit positions and makes recommendations for appointments, promotions, and reassignments.
Performance Management: Develops performance standards, conducts evaluations, and provides ongoing advice, counsel, and technical instruction to subordinates.
Conflict Resolution: Addresses and resolves minor employee complaints and grievances, referring more serious matters to higher-level management when necessary.
Professional Development: Identifies staff training needs and implements strategies to improve work quality and production within the unit.
