Key Requirements

  • Proven supervisory skills in leading, directing, and assigning work to personnel in functional areas like plans, integration, air terminal, and distribution
  • General experience involving judgment, analytical ability in logistics, and proficiency with computer and automation systems
  • Eligibility under DoD Priority Placement Programs, such as Military Reserve, National Guard Technician, or Military Spouse Preference
  • Ability to foster health, welfare, morale, training, and mission readiness while meeting operational demands in an agile combat support setting
  • Familiarity with managing programs across wing and remote locations to ensure overall effectiveness

Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5902600 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard.

This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level.

Experience performing strategic planning, setting policy, and developing guidelines that have application across organizational lines within the wing (and supported remote locations) and which serve to ensure a program that fosters adequate health, welfare, morale, training, and mission readiness of assigned personnel, while meeting operational demands in an agile combat support environment.

Experience being responsible for the centralized command and control, planning, and execution of all wing deployment operations and the distribution of cargo and passengers.

Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Major Duties:

As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-12, you will direct and manage subordinate functional areas and to serve as a technical expert over these functional areas.

Effective management of the Deployment and Distribution Flight which is comprised of a Plans and Integration Section; Small Air Terminal Section; and Distribution Section.
