This job involves leading a team of legal assistants in a U.S.
Attorney's Office, where you'll supervise daily operations, train staff, and handle administrative tasks to support lawyers in criminal and civil cases.
You'll review and prepare legal documents, manage case calendars, and use computer software to create materials for trials.

GS-09: To be qualified at the GS-9 grade level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience at the GS-8 grade level in federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as providing administrative and technical guidance to support personnel; reviewing legal documents prepared by other staff; using office automation software (e.g., word processing software, docketing automation systems, electronic mail, and/or litigation support software) to perform legal support work relating to the examination, preparation and processing of a variety of legal documents and correspondence; and reviewing documents with legal implications for accuracy and completeness.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required. Major Duties:
The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Legal Assistant (Office Automation), you will serve as a supervisor of staff assigned to the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Duties include: Providing administrative and technical supervision to support legal assistants staff who provide technical and legal assistant services to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs).
Developing and training legal assistants and clerical staff.
Advising employees of performance requirements and assisting in the development of performance work plans, progress review reports, and annual performance evaluations.
Providing a variety of legal support services for trial of cases (i.e. maintaining calendar of cases, reviewing legal documents, assembling exhibits, affidavits, and legal documents).
Utilizing various software applications to produce a variety of legal documents and materials (i.e., incorporate tables, graphs and charts into legal documents or courtroom presentations).
