Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience organizing and directing the activities of legal support staff; providing legal, technical, and clerical support to attorneys; providing technical advice to legal support staff; assisting attorneys and managing legal support staff in organizing voluminous case information; performing a variety of complex administration support relating to the management and administrative support of the division; experience analyzing complex litigation support requirements, recommending strategies to meet litigation needs, developing litigation policies and procedures, performing litigation support tasks to manage electronic discovery, evidence, and exhibits etc.

This position serves as a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist responsible for providing management and administrative work to the Support staff in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Alabama.
Typical work assignments include: Planning and assigning workload to subordinates including setting goals, priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work based on difficulty of assignments and staff capabilities.
Hearing and resolving complaints and grievances from employees, referring to the supervisor only those of a district-wide or precedent setting nature.
Reviewing, assessing, and developing local litigation policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with current policies and objectives.
Performing a variety of litigation support tasks necessary to prepare and/or manage electronic discovery, evidence, and exhibits.
Processing complex voluminous electronically stored information relevant to investigations and casework.
Providing technical advice, customer support, and project management services in connection with electronic discovery and evidence, litigation support projects, and litigation technology software applications.
Performing a variety of administrative work to meet the operational needs of the assigned area including preparation of legal actions such as indictments, criminal complaints, search warrants, judgments, answers, motions for extension of time, applications, notices, affidavits, summonses, grand jury subpoenas, rules to show cause, proofs of claim, and satisfaction of judgment.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
