Summary

This job involves leading a team of intelligence analysts to conduct in-depth research on future threats and trends, providing key insights to military planners for operations and contingencies.

It requires supervising both military and civilian staff while using advanced tools to analyze and share intelligence data.

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of intelligence processes, including the intelligence cycle, research tools (e.g., libraries, photos, statistics, graphics, maps), and methods for analyzing, compiling, reporting, and disseminating data
  • Progressively responsible experience in intelligence-related research, analysis, collection, operations, counterintelligence, or threat support
  • Eligibility under specific employment authorities, such as current DCIPS employees, veterans' preference, or DoD civilians, with proof of category
  • U.S. citizenship and adherence to DCIPS regulations under Title 10 U.S. Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S.

Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the JOINT ACTIVITIES, DIRECTORATE OF PLANS & POLICY, PLANS & FUTURES DIVISION, FORT BRAGG, NC.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience directing and managing in depth research and analysis using state-of-the-art intelligence research tools and automated data processing equipment.

AND 2) Experience providing contingency planners with critical intelligence during routine and Joint Planning Group operations.

AND 3) Experience supervising military, civilian and contractor regional and functional senior Strategic Intelligence Analysts with focus on future threats and developing trends.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS -13).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations.

This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.

This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: General Military Intelligence (GMI) Analysis Planning and Evaluating Intelligence and Threat Support (I&TS) Major Duties:

  • Serves as a Division Chief and Senior Intelligence Analyst for the Assessments and Future Threats Division (J52), Policy and Plans Directorate (JS) of the Command.
  • Responsible for supervising military, civilian and contractor regional and functional senior Strategic Intelligence Analysts with focus on future threats and developing trends.
  • Plans, prepares, and exercises necessary supervisory authority to accomplish assigned projects within set timeframe or suspense date.
  • Assesses potential unexpected developments that could be encountered and recommends changes in strategy or focus to accomplish tasks to support SOF planners and deploying forces.
  • Serves as the overall network expert responsible for providing the director and commander with specialized threat data on all future regional and network facets.
  • Represents the Command as the Senior Intelligence Analyst during coordination and liaison with counterparts throughout the intelligence Community and other government agencies.
