Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services, Data and Systems Group, Division of Business and Data Analysis.

As a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST, GS-2210-15, you will provide executive leadership in the overall administrative processes in support of successful business and operations.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; AND 4.

Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1.

Leading the coordination of enterprise health care technology related to the planning, system implementation, development, and compliance process; 2.

Managing all aspects of an IT project to include contract development, budgets, activity reports, data analysis, and agile delivery methods; 3.

Leading the development of standard operating procedures, and process improvements to make the organization more efficient. AND 4.

Preparing written documents and presenting to diverse audiences, e.g., end users, senior leadership, and other non-technical audiences.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

  • Serve as director with overall responsibility for planning and coordinating the functions related to oversight and management of Medicaid State Systems.
  • Collaborate with and business owners to review change for each system, establishes priorities, and ensures that requirements are within the contract scope of work.
  • Analyze, monitor, and guide the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the MMIS operations and certification processes.
  • Develop documentation for each new system to enable the production implementation in an integrated fashion with all current systems.
