Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of IT specialists in managing and supporting computer systems for the Army's family and morale programs, ensuring everything runs smoothly without interruptions.

You'll create guidelines, solve technical problems, and handle security to keep services reliable for users.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in integrating information systems, performance tuning, system diagnostics, administration methods, and IT security principles
  • OR intensive IT certification demonstrating knowledge in those areas
  • OR graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, or technology management
  • OR 24 semester hours in relevant fields plus experience in developing or adapting applications, systems, or networks
  • OR combination of experience, education, and training meeting the knowledge requirements
  • Supervisory experience leading IT teams at NF-4/GS-09 level
  • Highly preferred: One year in Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs and experience with RecTrac or similar POS systems

Full Job Description

This position is located at NAF Support Division, Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation, Information Technology Services. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must possess at least one (1) year of experience performing duties that have provided you with the knowledge and skill of: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

OR Must possess intensive training providing you an IT Certification that has provided you with the demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying the following: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

OR Must possess a graduate degree in one of the following fields of study: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, or technology management.

OR Must possess a graduate level education that includes a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours in one or more of the following fields (computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, or technology management) AND required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR Must possess a combination of the above listed experience, education and intensive training to provide you with you the knowledge and skill of: Principles and methods for integrating information systems components; performance tuning tools and techniques; system diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques; -systems administration methods; and IT security principles.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": At least one year of previous or current experience working in an Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.

At least one year of RecTrac (or similar Point of Sales system) experience. Experience must be reflected on your resume!

Applicants meeting minimum qualification requirements and highly preferred criteria will be considered before candidates only meeting minimum qualifications of the position. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists (NF-4/GS-09 level) performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology.
  • Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available.
  • Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
  • Prepares and presents reports and briefings to technical staff.
  • Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.
