Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves as a Housing Manager reporting to the Chief of Housing Division located on the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at a large multi-mission installation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing plans or procedures for barracks sustainment; and analyzing data for a variety of reports pertinent to availability of housing.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Major Duties:

  • Provides technical housing expertise and assistance to garrison Commander/Manager and other installation staff in representing Department of the Army (DA), Army Command, and garrison objectives.
  • Maintains/monitors enterprise Military Housing (eMH) database.
  • Develops overall installation plans and procedures for barracks sustainment, to include restoration, modernization, and/or replacement projects.
  • Analyzes and assesses data for a variety of reports pertinent to availability of housing, Military and Civilian personnel, quarterly data on customer service, and Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) annual surveys.
  • Performs or directs periodic or scheduled surveys, audits, reviews, studies, and inspections to determine family housing conditions or requirements and to evaluate work being performed under the housing contracts
  • Advises chain-of-command on all aspects of the installation housing program and submits necessary reports, information papers, briefings, etc.
