This job involves leading and supporting telehealth programs at a VA hospital in Wyoming, including coordinating with clinical staff, monitoring program quality and efficiency, and working with communications teams to meet healthcare goals for veterans.
It's a temporary supervisory role for someone with experience in healthcare administration who can handle both administrative tasks and team oversight.
A good fit would be a detail-oriented professional passionate about improving remote healthcare access, with a background in managing health systems.
This position is 120 day Detail/Temp Promotion within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the Sheridan VA Health Care System (SVAHCS).
The primary purpose of the position is to provide support to the Facility Telehealth Coordinator, telehealth clinical technicians (TCTs), OI&T, and BioMed staff.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/27/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.

Health System Administration Series, 0671 Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR): Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration OR, Specialized Experience: Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field.
This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities.
Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement OR, Special Provision for Inservice Placement: Successful completion of an agency-sponsored on-the-job training program may be substituted for qualifying experience, provided it included a formal individualized training plan.
Such a training program must have been conducted in an operating health care system and included: Assignments providing a knowledge of basic health system administration philosophies, practices, and procedures, and basic government administrative policies and requirements; Practical assignments providing an opportunity to apply health system administration skills and principles (as the individual progresses, work assignments must be characteristic of the grade level to which he or she is assigned); and Oversight by an experienced health system administrator with periodic evaluation of the individual's progress and appropriate adjustment of the training program.
In addition to meeting the IOR you must also meet the specialized experience below: You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Evaluates and monitors quality, safety, efficiency, utilization, productivity, and effectiveness of Connected Care/Telehealth Program Communicates and works with SVAHCS Communications/Public Affairs, academic affiliates, and/or across service lines to achieve maximum fulfillment of the connected care program goals and objectives and to share/disseminate knowledge and information regarding connected care programs.
Ensuring that telehealth services adhere to all accreditation, VISN level, and national program oversight standards (i.e.
The Joint Commission, Office of Connected Care) and makes recommendations for process and operational improvements Monitor telehealth operations and workload to continuously improve patient care and access and to evaluate efforts to further expand telehealth services Completes extensive analysis to expand telehealth services appropriately in proportion to projected patient population changes, socioeconomic factors, technological limitations, and available resources.
The incumbent will be responsible for communicating projections and the planning of service expansion.
Ensuring proper credentialing and privileging is complete for all providers, completion and accuracy of Telehealth Service Agreements, and all providers have required trainings to provide telehealth services to patients.
Oversight of any action items assigned to Connected Care.
Directly communicates with VISN and VACO offices for any requests received and works with VISN and VACO on Priority Two Action (P2A) VHA strategic goals for telehealth.
Ensures timely correspondence and accurate, quality completion of action items. Communicates any requests or questions clearly and early.
Assigns work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, such that the experience, training, and abilities of staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Provides leadership in evaluation and implementation of new clinical Telehealth technologies.
Communicates and collaborates with Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) and other technical staff in the development, implementation, and operation of telehealth applications.
Manages and maintains a current inventory of facility telehealth technology including hardware, software, and associated licenses and maintenance agreements.
Actively stays abreast of professional and technical development in the telehealth field, and of current research on value of new technological approaches and communicates relevant information to all involved parties.
